Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle method of correction and realignment. When receiving a treatment, clients report feeling relaxed and grounded.
How Does It Work?- The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the tailbone area, the sacrum.
- Similar to the more familiar pulse rhythms of the heart and respiratory systems, the craniosacral system also has a pulse rhythm. It is like an internal motor pump that helps fluids to circulate from the brain and around the body. The rhythm is most easily felt on the skull and sacrum since these bones attach to the membranes that enclose the cerebrospinal fluid. A light touch is used in the treatment to monitor the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid as it flows through the system and gently encourages the rhythm in restricted areas.
- The treatment encourages your own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate the negative effects of stress on your central nervous system. It also allows for better overall health and resistance to disease. It helps to correct postural problems and relieves pain and dysfunction.
