Relaxation Treatment
Although Alison strives to make every treatment a relaxing and restorative experience, a “Relaxation Treatment” is described as a treatment that is not specifically intended to resolve any aches or pains. The goal of the treatment is simply overall relaxation and general self care. One might describe it as a “spa experience” as the intention is to help you escape from stress, relieve your muscle tension and make you feel pampered.
In this type of treatment Alison would incorporate the use of heat, which has a sedative effect on the body and helps to soften and relax the tissue. If you wish, use of aromatherapy oils can also be included in the treatment to enhance the effect.
In any massage, Alison often advises that the more of the body parts included in the treatment, the more relaxing the treatment will be. Therefore, a relaxation treatment is often a “full body” treatment. A full body treatment could include the head, face, neck and shoulders, abdomen, arms, legs, feet and back. Alison will always ask which parts of the body you would like to include as this is always suited to the client’s comfort level and preference.
At the end of the treatment, your muscles will feel loose and relaxed, your joints will move a little more freely, your mind will be soothed you will have a wonderful sense of well-being. Definitely time well spent.
